General Camp Information
Do you have a camper that is going into 7th grade or older? We have an amazing program for our older youth. With goals of skill building and leadership, teens are part of the planning and delivery of camp. Many of our teens will be Program Aides at camp but we understand that’s not everyone’s interest. We welcome all teens looking to be at camp to reach out; there is a place at camp for all. If you have any questions about our Teen Program, please reach out to Commander Fury (Brianne Green) at rentonwildernesspa@gmail.com, our Incredible Program Aide Director.
Camp is a magical place for campers and volunteers alike. All our days start with flag ceremony and unit time. Campers are in grade level units. Each day includes new skill experiences like archery, cooking, nature skills, crafts and so much more.
We can’t make camp happen without MANY amazing volunteers. We’re an entirely volunteer led camp, which means we need lots of wonderful volunteers to make the magic of camp happen each year. Would you be willing to join us at camp?
A typical camp day as a volunteer is from 12-7:30pm. As a volunteer, you’ll be assigned a grade level unit of around 12 kids that you’ll be with for the week. You’ll have a co-leader, and every day you’ll have teenage Program Aides assigned to your unit to run the programs. Your job is to help make sure everyone is safe, their needs are being met, and to help with programming when the Program Aides need assistance. There are lots of fun activities to participate in and help with. It’s a busy and super fun week! As a volunteer, you’ll be supported by the core camp staff, and given all the tools to make sure your camp week goes smoothly.
Volunteers get 50% off camp tuition for one child for the week, and also get to be a part of a truly fantastic summer camp experience! Volunteers also get to register early, starting today. These benefits are available to all Year-round Core Staff and Summer Full Four-day volunteers.
All volunteers must be registered, and background checked Girl Scout Volunteers.
